World Premiere of SILENCE, Version for Wind Ensemble

The 'Oboe Concerto, SILENCE,' originally written for oboe and symphony orchestra, has been arranged for Wind Ensemble and will receive its world premiere performance by Jung Choi and the UNT Wind Orchestra on March 20, 2025, under the direction of Andrew Trachsel at the Winspear Performance Hall in the Murchison Performing Arts Center, Denton, Texas.

Portrait Concert Featuring Trio Mediaeval: Including a World Premiere

 

​The Portrait Concert on March 4, 2025, at UNT’s Voertman Concert Hall will feature works by Sungji Hong, including Missa Lumen de Lumine, written for Trio Mediæval and released on the ECM New Series (ECM 1929). This piece has been critically acclaimed, achieving top ten rankings on the Billboard Classical Chart and iTunes Classics. Also featured will be Missa Ichthys, a new composition written in 2024 during the Civitella Ranieri Residency in Umbria, Italy, which will have its world premiere. Trio Mediaeval, as the guest artists, will perform both works in a 50-minute program.
